Description

The liquid phase fluidity of iron ore is one of the vital index of sintering characteristic, as the suitable melt fluidity can get a stronger bonding strength of sintered body. In this paper, FactSage thermodynamic calculation software and visible micro-sintering test device were conducted to research liquid phase fluidity and the main influence factors of melt formation characteristics. The results show that the rule of liquid phase fluidity of iron ore is obviously different when the flux is fixed with CaO ratio or fixed alkalinity. The generated liquid content of iron ore powder is the most important melt formation characteristic factor which affects its liquid phase fluidity. The higher the generated liquid content, the greater the liquid phase fluidity index. The content of gangue minerals affect the liquid phase fluidity of iron ore. The liquid fluidity index decreases greatly with increasing SiO2 content results in lower generated liquid content and the liquid phase viscosity is increased. In contrast, with an increase in the Al2O3 content only slightly increasing the liquid fluidity index.
