Nanoindentation techniques are widely used leading to a variety of different mechanical designs and hardware-software concepts. They have a huge influence on the realization of experiments. Constrains are due to price and time budget limitations for testing, technical limitations, software options and user support.
The sm@rt 500 nanoindenter is designed to offer a versatile testing range and software concept to serve as a daily workhorse for standardized tests. The modern concept of microcontroller operated testing enables a high degree of customizing testing protocols and post-delivery updates. Add-on components can be integrated to be high speed synchronized with the indenter head using digital IOs. We will show examples of testing concepts and results for different applications.
