Poster D3. Micro- and nano-mechanics - Characterization and modelling (old D5) D3_Poster Session

Description

We examine the behaviour of short and long polymers of polyvinyl alcohol by means of coarse-
grained computer simulations. In particular, we focus on the structural changes on the monomer
and polymer scale during cooling and the application of uni-axial true-strain. The straining of
long polymers results in the formation of a semi-crystalline system at temperatures well above the
crystallisation temperature, which allows the study of strain induced crystallisation.
