Description
Termed as magnetoelectrical coupling, a strong interaction between ferroelectricity and magnetism in the same phase tends to be mutually exclusive and manifests itself weakly even when coexist. On the other hand, can offer routes to entirely new device architectures with great potential for practical applications, which has led to the extremely rapid development of magnetoelectric and/or multiferroic materials despite the intrinsic difficulties. Recently we have reported the magnetoelectrical coupling in a molecular material, namely a paramagnetic ferroelectric lanthanide coordination complex, when the magnetic field-induced modification of the ferroelectric domains has been demonstrated in a single-phase material at room temperature. This work represents further missed but highly required fundamental study on the determination of the character (uniaxial or multiaxial) of polarization in ZnYb (R,R-1) compound. By using the nonlinear optical SHG method, we provide the results elucidating the effect of multiaxial/ uniaxial nature in behavior observed for local piezo- and ferroelectric domains acquired during correlated OOP/IP PFM scans.
